  • Name: Chateau Le Tertre de Caussan (AOC Bordeaux Medoc)
    Area: blaignan, gironde (see Map)

Tasting notes: Still youthful lovely deep red color, Attractive, warm, balsamic bouquet with red fruit overtones. Round and smooth on the palate with finely-textured tannins and plenty of volume. Spicy, cherry aftertaste that reinforces the overall impression of balance.
Food pairing: Serve it between 16 and 18°C. When young, this wine is delicious with grilled, roast, or pan-fried red meat and game. It is also ideal with entrecote steak, rack of lamb with herbs, roast duck, game pate, and almost all types of cheese.
Grape varietal: Merlot & Cabernet sauvignon
Average age of the vines: 30 years
    Soil: Clay-limestone
    Owner: M. Guy CAUSSAN
    Location: Blaignan, Gironde
  • Located north-west of the city Bordeaux, the Medoc is a triangular-shaped peninsula between the Gironde estuary and the Atlantic Ocean.
A pine forest on the western side serves as a windbreak against ocean winds.
The Medoc vineyards cover a strip of land some 80 km long.
The vineyards are ploughed and grass is left between the vine rows to consolidate the soil and absorb excess humidity.
