Despite the name—which translates to Little Swiss—the Petit Suisse actually originated in Normandie, France in 1850 where a Swiss employee at a small dairy in Auvilliers, near Beauvais, suggested that adding cream to the curd will enrich the flavor of the cheese.... and Voilà!
Technically a double-crème soft cheese with at least 40% fat content (unripened, unsalty, smooth, and creamy), Petit Suisse is made with prized Normandy cow’s milk. The texture is firmer than most yogurts but very rich with a silky texture.
Available in a mixed three-flavor pack (peach-pear, strawberry, and apricot-mango), Petit Suisse doesn’t contain high fructose corn syrup or artificial preservatives, colors, or flavors. These adorably small containers (approximately 2 ounces each) offer the perfect size for kids or adults wanting a healthy, satisfying snack.
