Beurre d'Isigny is yellow like buttercups, has a faint taste of hazelnuts, contains coarse rock salt, and is rich in Vitamin A. These qualities were noted in the Appellation d'Origine ContrÎlée specification, which has been in force since 1986.
PDO Isigny Butter (Protected Denomination of Origin, AOP) is made in accordance with traditions and exclusively from the milks of Isigny terroir. Made with the best traditional creams of Isigny (matured for 16 to 18 hours), it is famous for its golden buttercup color and distinctive milk notes.
